From a humble beginning to world class fashions

Over 50 years ago, Bernhard Brenner came to America as a young knitting engineer from Europe with a singular vision: “To make the finest sweater that can be made.”
Amid the scenic buffs of the Upper Mississippi River Valley at Winona, Minnesota, Mr. Brenner founded Knitcraft Corporation with the belief that Winona’s beautiful countryside and the strong work ethic of its residents would be key to achieving his vision. In a short time, the St. Croix label became synonymous with perfection in craftsmanship and styling and earned its reputation as the world’s highest quality knitwear.
In challenging times, some manufacturers turn to money-saving tactics such as relaxing quality standards, using subpar materials and taking shortcuts to reduce costs. Not so for St. Croix Collections.
We’ve increased our commitment to quality and further our dedication to the highest standards of craftsmanship using the finest raw materials in the world. We believe that every garment we produce should be perfect, and every item is inspected with this goal in mind.
“You cannot, at any price, from any source in the world, buy a better sweater. You can only pay more.” This philosophy has underscored our dedication for the past 50 years, and we will continue to provide the finest to our customers across the globe as we head toward to the future.
